Beer X has been a really great event for the North; so often industry shows and events happen in the capital and the great brewing cities of this area can feel a little ignored; so this is a chance for those who can’t always make it south to interact with suppliers, put faces to names and have a get together with people in the industry that we don’t often see. It is also a chance to try beer from some breweries that we may not see around so often and celebrate the diversity and quality of the UK brewing scene.

I've been attending BeerX for five or six years and I'm always impressed with the scale of the event and its increased professionalism. As a growing brewery the exhibition offers a great opportunity to meet potential suppliers and discuss plans for the year ahead with companies we already work with. Beyond the exhibition I'm finding continued value in the wide-ranging seminars available, the opportunity to engage with the politics of SIBA shouldn't be understated but perhaps the jewel in the BeerX crown is the pint or two of award winning beer at the end of the day with like-minded friends.

BeerX is a superb event for many reasons. Firstly to be able to see suppliers old and new in one place and see what they have to offer is priceless. Then there are all the talks on production processes, exporting, HMRC etc which is invaluable. The competition and awards are always good fun but the highlight for me is catching up with brewing friends old and new. Where else would you find competitors enjoying a pint and having the craic? Ive been there every year and would hate to miss it.

BeerX is a great opportunity to meet or catch-up with other brewers and suppliers from across the country. The trade seminars are informative, wide-ranging and particularly useful for us, as a relatively young, growing business. This, and the chance to sample some of the many fine beers produced by our peers, make it an event we always look forward to.

BeerX provides a great opportunity to network with other like-minded brewers and suppliers to the brewing industry. With a varied mix of seminars, discussion topics and speakers throughout the event, it’s also a great opportunity to learn and understand more and share ideas and experiences about the industry we love.

BeerX provided a number of opportunities for different members of the brewery team: our brewer found the technical seminars useful, our sales team made useful contacts at the Meet the Buyer session and we all enjoyed the informal networking with other brewers and industry peers.

We invested time in BeerX this year, with four people attending the event. I found the Industry Day speeches excellent, covering a variety of subjects and giving me ideas that I'll take back to the brewery. It was definitely worth attending.

As a bar owner with a passion for beer and ambitions to brew at some point, BeerX had a lot to offer. The seminars were what encouraged me to attend and they didn't disappoint: Ali Capper's talk on British hops was a 'standout' speech and it was good to meet Roger Protz after reading many of his books.
